One NZ and 2degrees seek to share mobile network infrastructure
Two mobile operators are proposing to jointly build and share expensive network equipment across New Zealand rather than duplicating infrastructure.
One NZ and 2degrees want to combine their efforts to build mobile network equipment instead of separately duplicating costly infrastructure across a small, hard-to-serve country. The Commerce Commission is expected to rule on the proposal. The arrangement would aim to reduce waste while maintaining the competitive market of three major telco players that New Zealand consumers currently benefit from.
