Christchurch City Council’s shopping trolley mapping project abandoned

Christchurch City Council has dropped plans to create a map of abandoned shopping trolleys after retailers refused to participate.

The Christchurch City Council attempted to develop a map tracking abandoned shopping trolleys in the city, but the project has failed. Retailers indicated they already had sufficient systems in place to manage trolley retrieval and were unwilling to collaborate with the council on the initiative.
