Dunedin Labour voter cites minority rights concerns ahead of election
A 26-year-old Dunedin voter explains why he is backing Labour, citing concerns about minority rights and working conditions.
Tyler Proctor, a 26-year-old Dunedin administrator and Labour Party member, is voting for Labour candidate Rachel Brooking and the Labour Party. He says voting Labour is the only way to guarantee a change of government and highlights three key concerns: diminishing rights of minority groups including Māori, Pasifika and the rainbow community; workers' rights and workplace health and safety; and giving young people confidence they can thrive without fear or worry about healthcare and education costs.
