Housing minister Chris Bishop has rejected a fast-track approval bid for a proposed 1000-home development at the former Pegasus Golf Course.

Property developer Wolfbrook sought fast-track approval to redevelop the former Pegasus Golf Course into 1000 homes along with mixed-use commercial and community areas. Housing Minister Chris Bishop has declined the fast-track referral. The Waimakariri mayor welcomed the decision, saying it reflected community concerns. Wolfbrook has indicated it intends to pursue the development through other means.
