Financial close has been reached on the public-private partnership to build the Warkworth to Te Hana expressway, with the Government paying an average of $290 million annually over 25 years. The total cost to the Crown could reach approximately $9 billion. The project is being built by an Acciona-led consortium known as Northway, with the arrangement carrying a net-present value to the Crown of $3.649 billion.
