Government legalises balcony solar systems as part of renewable energy push
The Government will allow plug-in balcony solar systems and is implementing recommendations to make household solar cheaper and easier to install.
The Government has backed 15 recommendations from a Ministry for Regulation review to legalise balcony-mounted or plug-in solar systems. The move is part of a broader effort to make household and small-scale solar installation simpler and more affordable. Regulation Minister David Seymour and Energy Minister Simeon Brown said work would begin on progressing the recommendations.
