Ratko Mladic, a Bosnian Serb military leader convicted of war crimes, has died while serving a life sentence. Mladic's forces besieged Sarajevo for several years and were responsible for the worst massacre in Europe since World War II. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 by a UN tribunal investigating war crimes from the Yugoslav wars.
