Youth armed with tomahawk arrested after knife stand-off at Dunedin bus hub

Police arrested a 14-year-old with a small tomahawk following a stand-off at the site of a fatal Dunedin bus hub stabbing, as a knife-wielding youth remains at large.

A youth brandished a knife at the scene of a fatal stabbing in Dunedin's bus hub. A 14-year-old boy involved in the same stand-off was found with a small tomahawk in his backpack. Weapons including a knife and axe were seized following the incident. The killer of the original victim, who is serving time, has been denied parole and has an appeal against deportation pending.
