Two New Zealand hikers trapped on the Solomon Islands' highest mountain by flooding and landslides have been rescued after several days.
Keanu Isaksson, 25, and Luca Zylstra-Law, 19, became stranded in a ravine on Mount Popomanaseu after torrential rain, flooding and landslides cut off their exit route. Severe weather conditions initially prevented local rescue efforts. The pair were found and airlifted out, with their families saying they remained hopeful throughout the ordeal and are now recovering at home.
