Warriors perform historic haka before Panthers match
The New Zealand Warriors performed their first-ever haka before beating Penrith 28-12 in an NRL game.
The Warriors debuted Ngā Tamatoa, a haka composed specifically for the team, before their round 23 match against the Panthers at Go Media Stadium. The haka was composed by Joe Pihema in collaboration with Ngāti Whātua and performed alongside tribal members, with co-captain James Fisher-Harris leading the team. The Warriors won the match 28-12, and the club is considering reserving the haka for special occasions to preserve its significance.
