US woman jailed for attempting to smuggle 18kg of methamphetamine into New Zealand
A 32-year-old American woman has been sentenced to jail after authorities discovered 18kg of methamphetamine hidden in her luggage at the border.
Customs officers found 36 vacuum-sealed packages of methamphetamine concealed in two suitcases belonging to a 32-year-old US woman who arrived from San Francisco. The woman had denied carrying any illegal or controlled substances when questioned by Customs officers. She has been jailed for the attempted drug smuggling.
