A hiker was struck by a pole while climbing in Montana and walked 16km down the mountain despite the injury.
A 32-year-old hiker was climbing Granite Peak with two companions when he slipped on loose rocks at high altitude. He was impaled by a pole during the fall but managed to trek 16 kilometres down the mountain to reach safety.
