A UK funeral director has been jailed for 20 years after about 50 grieving families were given the wrong ashes of their loved ones.
A funeral director in northeastern England was sentenced to 20 years in prison after police discovered that dozens of bereaved families had been given incorrect ashes. More than 200 victims described the impact of the crimes during a five-day court hearing. Urns and packaging with families' names were found during a police raid on the funeral home.
