A survey of more than 1600 people showed that two-thirds of New Zealanders are willing to pay more tax for better healthcare. There was also broad consensus across voters of all major parties for stricter regulation on tobacco and unhealthy foods. Support exceeded 90% for policies focused on early cancer detection, treatment and care.
