Aseta Redican has been recognised with an honorary doctorate in acknowledgement of her pioneering contributions to physiotherapy in New Zealand and the Pacific region. Her achievements include establishing the Pacific Heartbeat programme for the New Zealand Heart Foundation and opening Samoa's first physiotherapy department. Redican was New Zealand's first Pacific physiotherapy graduate.
