Snowplanet cuts power costs with 2300-panel solar installation
Auckland's indoor snow park has installed solar panels to generate 30 percent of its electricity and reduce carbon emissions.
Snowplanet has partnered with commercial solar company Sunergise to install 2317 solar panels on a hillside at its Auckland facility. The panels now generate about 30 percent of the power needed to maintain the indoor snow park's 8000-square-metre freezer at -5°C. The project offsets 101 tonnes of carbon annually.
