Ruatoria man raises rescued emu chicks
A Ruatoria man has become an unofficial parent to two young emus he discovered while gathering firewood.
Graeme Atkins found two emu chicks a few weeks ago when he stopped to collect wood for a birthday celebration. He has since taken on the role of caring for the young birds. The chicks are now in his care as he raises them.
