PM defends $20k helicopter trips to Hamilton to avoid driving
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has used Defence Force helicopters twice to fly to Hamilton rather than drive, costing around $20,000 per trip.
The Defence Force has flown more than five hours to transport Prime Minister Christopher Luxon to Hamilton for visits, avoiding a three-hour return drive. The helicopter trips have occurred twice so far and cost approximately $20,000 each. Luxon has defended the use of the aircraft for these journeys.
