A new Mt Albert restaurant showcases Bengali cuisine with curries, biryanis and sweets rarely found elsewhere in Auckland.
Parbon Tasty Kitchen, which opened in January, offers a menu focused on Bengali and Indo-Chinese dishes at its Mt Albert location opposite the train station. The restaurant is run by chef Subarna Saha, who previously worked at Ponsonby restaurants, alongside her husband and two children. Dishes include snacks like fushka and jhal muri, curries featuring fish and vegetables, and traditional Bengali sweets, with meals available at reasonable prices starting well under $30 per person.
