Only a quarter of schools using $34m student information system

Fewer than 25 percent of schools are actively using the Education Ministry's cloud-based Te Rito system designed to share student data.

The Education Ministry's $34 million cloud-based system called Te Rito is being used by only 551 schools. A further 503 schools have signed up but are waiting to be connected. The low uptake suggests the system is not yet widely adopted across the school sector.
