NZ First candidate George Ngatai has stepped down after screenshots emerged showing he approached multiple parties seeking a candidacy.
George Ngatai, who was selected as a NZ First candidate, has resigned following the surfacing of online messages in which he appeared to approach other political parties about standing as a candidate. Ngatai acknowledged communicating with other parties but said no meetings took place. He also reported being blackmailed over private messages and went to police.
