Northland Mill closes two weeks early with loss of 60 jobs
A Kaitāia mill has shut down earlier than expected after the company failed to find a buyer for the site.
Juken NZ announced the closure of the Northland Mill in Kaitāia, resulting in around 60 job losses. The mill was originally scheduled to operate until 21 August, but closed today instead. A skeleton crew had committed to keeping it running until the later date, though workers are reported to be somewhat relieved by the earlier shutdown.
