Government to reconsider $50 weekly cost of living payment
The Government will seek Cabinet advice next week on whether to continue the $50 weekly boost to working families' in-work tax credit.
Since April, the Government has provided a $50 weekly payment to around 143,000 working families through the in-work tax credit as cost of living support. Finance Minister Nicola Willis has signalled the payment may be retained despite fuel prices reaching a level that could have triggered its removal. The Government will take advice to Cabinet next week about the future of the payment.
