Duncan Firth founded Solarei, a New Zealand-registered architecture firm, and has built a career in Bangkok focused on environmental design and energy efficiency. His path to Southeast Asia began unexpectedly when he travelled through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia as a solo backpacker. Firth's work emphasises building in harmony with surrounding environments to maximise passive heating and cooling.
