Netflix, Neon, HBO Max and other streamers release new films, documentaries and series this week, including a DC superhero drama and a Shakespeare film.
Streaming services are releasing new content this week across multiple platforms. HBO Max debuts Lanterns, a gritty sci-fi cop drama co-created by Lost and Watchmen's Damon Lindelof, starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as intergalactic police partners investigating a murder in Nebraska. Netflix releases Hamnet, an Oscar-winning drama directed by Chloé Zhao and starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, about Shakespeare and his wife coping with their son's death. MĀORI+ launches a documentary about heavy metal band Alien Weaponry, which pioneered singing te reo Māori in the genre.
