Mum, I'm Alien Pregnant is a New Zealand film about a millennial woman who finds herself pregnant with an alien baby following an encounter with her neighbour. The debut feature from directing duo Thunderlips uses grotesque imagery and dark comedy to examine themes of bodily autonomy, reproductive choice, and how systems attempt to control women's bodies. The film features an impressive ensemble cast and blends distinctly New Zealand sensibilities with outrageous set-pieces, balancing gross humour with underlying sweetness and social commentary.
