MBIE's chief executive appeared before Parliament's Privileges Committee to deny that his officials deliberately misled a select committee over the failed Immigration Biometric Upgrade project. The project, initially reported to have cost $33m and delivered nothing, has been revealed to have actually cost nearly $40m. The minister responsible publicly disclosed the higher figure.
