Lewis Clareburt secured New Zealand's first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games by winning the men's 200m butterfly with a dramatic comeback, qualifying second but surging home to defend his title. The 27-year-old then added a second gold in his favoured 400m individual medley event. Clareburt is now eyeing the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028 after his successful Games campaign.
