Lawrence Xu-Nan crowned most popular MP in peer rankings
The Spinoff ranks New Zealand's 20 most popular MPs based on a survey of their parliamentary colleagues.
The Spinoff surveyed 43 MPs to identify the most liked parliamentarians based on peer opinion, with 73 MPs named across the responses. The ranking considered which MPs were popular across party lines and had broad appeal beyond their own caucus. Green MP Lawrence Xu-Nan topped the rankings, praised for his intelligence, work ethic and respectful approach, while National's Chris Bishop came second and NZ First leader Winston Peters took third place.
