IMF cautions against universal basic income in Marshall Islands as New Zealand voters consider the policy
The International Monetary Fund has warned against universal basic income after the Marshall Islands launched a quarterly cash payment to all residents.
The Marshall Islands has introduced a universal payment called Enra, distributing US$200 quarterly to every resident. The IMF has issued a warning about the scheme's viability. New Zealand voters are currently considering whether to adopt a similar universal basic income policy.
