Fisheries New Zealand is consulting on a plan to ban commercial fishing in parts of Northland under mātaitai reserve designations.
Fisheries NZ is proposing to prohibit commercial fishing in certain areas of Northland through mātaitai reserve designations. The proposal is currently in consultation phase. A public meeting on the plan is scheduled for Thursday.
