First 500 schools announced for $30 million solar panel pilot programme

The Government has revealed which 500 schools will receive solar panels in a new $30 million energy programme.

Four hundred schools across New Zealand have been selected to have solar panels installed under a pilot programme funded by $30 million from this year's Budget. The schools include 40 in the North Island, 157 in the South Island and three in the Chathams. Larger schools are expected to save around $8000 a year through the scheme.
