Tonga Police recapture Fijian escapee, hunt continues for high-risk NZ citizen
Tonga Police have recaptured one of two foreign escapees while a high-risk New Zealand citizen remains on the run, with bounties offered for both.
Two foreign remandees escaped custody in Tonga, prompting police to offer rewards of up to 5,000 Pa'anga (about NZ$3400) each for information leading to their capture. A Fijian national has since been recaptured. Liuaki Kokohu VI, a 35-year-old New Zealand citizen of Tongan descent considered high-risk due to his criminal history, remains at large.
