Disabled person managing own support funding not a Crown employee, ERA rules
A disabled person who arranges their own disability support is not a Crown employee, the Employment Relations Authority has decided.
A disabled person who manages their own disability support funding has lost their claim that they should be treated as a Crown employee. The person argued that since someone would need to arrange their support if they didn't do it themselves, they should be compensated for performing that work. The Employment Relations Authority disagreed with this position.
