The Christchurch Catholic Diocese has unveiled plans for a new Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, designed with an 800-seat capacity. The cathedral is estimated to cost $80 million to build. Architectural firm Warren and Mahoney has been working with diocesan leaders on the design. The diocese is launching a $16 million fundraising appeal for the project.
