Barrenjoey poaches at least 15 staff from Jarden in talent raid

Australian investment bank Barrenjoey has recruited at least 15 employees from New Zealand rival Jarden, including two senior executives, amid a morale crisis.

Barrenjoey has successfully recruited at least 15 employees from Jarden, following the departures of former co-chief executive Dan Reynolds and former co-head of investment banking Silvana Schenone. Staff departures have created what departing employees describe as an all-time low in morale at Jarden's New Zealand operations, stemming from years of tension over the firm's Australian expansion and uncertainty caused by the growing exodus. Jarden has paused its restructuring plans in response to the senior staff losses.
