MBIE CEO Nic Blakeley found in contempt of Parliament for misleading MPs
The head of Immigration New Zealand was found in contempt of Parliament after deliberately misleading MPs, prompting calls for his resignation.
Nic Blakeley, CEO of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, was found in contempt of Parliament by the Privileges Committee after misleading MPs. Although Blakeley offered his resignation, it was refused. Opposition politicians have since argued that his position is now untenable and he should be removed from the role.
