Driven partly by rising living costs, the trend offers consumers access to luxury goods without the commitment, maintenance costs or environmental impact of ownership. Fashion rental has become particularly popular, with businesses reporting that traditionally wealthy buyers are now renting designer items while those who previously rented are returning to their own wardrobes as costs squeeze household budgets.
