130 Kate Bush fans dance in freezing Dunedin for Wuthering Heights Day
Dunedin hosted its largest Wuthering Heights Day celebration yet, with dancers dressed in red performing Kate Bush's iconic choreography in the Octagon on a bitterly cold winter morning.
More than 130 people gathered in Dunedin's Octagon on Saturday to dance to Kate Bush's 1979 hit Wuthering Heights as part of a global event celebrating the song. Participants dressed in red and performed interpretive dance moves inspired by Bush's original music video, with some travelling from as far as Nelson and Christchurch to attend. The event, organised by city councillor Mandy Mayhem-Bullock for the past seven years, raised funds for local mental health charity Weka and brought together dancers of all abilities on one of the coldest mornings of winter.
