Lyttelton Port Company is pursuing an $800 million expansion project focused on earthquake resilience and container capacity.

Christchurch City Holdings, which owns Lyttelton Port on behalf of the local council, is considering an investment case for the Te Awaparahi Bay expansion. The project is being advanced on earthquake resilience grounds as well as to futureproof container capacity for the port.
