Australia's government has adjusted its News Bargaining Incentive scheme, which aims to force digital platforms to share revenue with news publishers. The levy has been raised from 2.25% to 2.5%, though the base has been narrowed to apply only to digital advertising revenue attributable to Australia and excludes AI chatbots. The changes represent concessions to tech companies while maintaining substantial revenue for news outlets.
