Destiny Church’s payments to defence lawyer investigated by charities regulator
Charities Services investigated Destiny Church's payments to a top defence lawyer around the time its leader faced covid breach charges.
Destiny International Trust, a registered charity, made 11 payments to defence lawyer Ron Mansfield in December 2021 and January 2022. The payments coincided with Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki being charged with breaching covid rules. The church trust told the charities regulator the payments were coincidental. The investigation was conducted by Charities Services.
