One person died and others were injured in a serious two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 near Kauri in Northland on Monday.
A fatal crash involving two vehicles closed State Highway 1 near Kauri between Maromaku and Kawakawa on Monday evening. One person died in the crash while others were taken to hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who saw the vehicles travelling at speed in the area prior to the incident.
