Tasman district council is reconsidering plans to downgrade newly asphalted subdivision roads to chip-seal to reduce future costs.
Many of Tasman's new subdivisions have asphalted roads, but facing large future maintenance bills, the district council is working on a policy to eventually convert them to chip-seal surfaces. The council is re-examining its assumptions about the Smooth Hill subdivision as part of this review.
