Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs moved to Pennsylvania prison after reports of luxury lifestyle in jail
Hip-hop mogul Sean Combs has been transferred to a federal prison in Pennsylvania after reports he was smuggling contraband and living luxuriously at his previous New Jersey lockup.
What happened
Sean Combs, 56, has been moved from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low, a low-security federal facility in Pennsylvania about 250 kilometres west of New York City. Combs is serving a four-year, two-month sentence for his conviction last year on prostitution-related charges involving transporting people across state lines for sexual encounters. Last month, NBC News reported that Combs was smuggling in alcohol, having fellow inmates cook and clean for him, and using a contraband cellphone to access social media. Following that report, he was placed in the prison's special housing unit and had 41 days of good-conduct credit docked, moving his release date to March 2, 2028. Reports also emerged of a fight with another inmate, though the Bureau of Prisons denied that incident occurred. The agency declined to provide details about the reasons for his transfer, citing privacy and security concerns.
