An Auckland woman has been sentenced after fraudulently claiming nearly $190,000 in single-parent tax credits while living with her husband.
Sasagi Rosalie Filoa received full single-parent Working for Families tax credits despite living with her husband, defrauding the system of just under $190,000 over eight years. The judge noted that overseas trips taken by the family during this period indicated a comfortable financial position. She has been sentenced to home detention and is repaying the amount to Inland Revenue at $300 per week.
