Jim Hopkins, a long-serving Waitaki district councillor and prominent broadcaster across television, radio and print, has died.
Jim Hopkins, a veteran broadcaster who worked across television, radio, newspapers and books, has died aged 79 or 80. He was a long-serving elected member of the Waitaki District Council, having first been elected to the Oamaru Ward in 2007. The council announced his death on Monday evening.
