Five New Zealanders and groups have been recognised as 2026 Freshwater Champions for their freshwater conservation work.
Five individuals and groups from around New Zealand have been named the 2026 Freshwater Champions. The recipients include a whΔnau from Wairarapa and farmers from Rotorua. The awards recognise outstanding contributions to freshwater conservation and management across the country.
