A fisherman died after falling into the water off Ninety Mile Beach in Northland despite rescue efforts.
A fisherman fell into the water at Ninety Mile Beach near Te Kao in Northland on Friday afternoon. Emergency services, including a helicopter and lifesaving personnel, responded to the incident around 1.20pm. Despite efforts to revive the man, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
