Auckland mother jailed for removing premature baby from hospital against medical advice
An Auckland mother has been jailed after removing her premature baby from hospital despite warnings of serious health risks.
An Auckland mother demanded a nurse remove her premature baby's gastric tube and then took the child from hospital after being warned of potential complications including lifelong brain damage. She has now been jailed for her actions. Her husband was also charged in relation to the incident but died before sentencing.
